On the freshwater lakes that we fish, the best fishing times are October until the end of April.
On the Ocean, we seek out the migratory salmon during the months of July and August.
Your catch will be cleaned and bagged at the end of your trip, ready for transport. Guests should bring a cooler with ice to help keep the fish fresh while being transported to their residence.
We also support the catch and release option should the client so choose.
Chris will instruct his clients on the best location for the time of year, and clients will transport themselves to the location for a shoreside or dockside pick-up at their given time. (Usually 7am or 8am pickup)

Yes. Unless you are a BC resident who is under 16 years of age, you are required to have a valid angling license that is produceable upon request by a fishery officer, conservation officer or fishery guardian, so ensure you have your licence and valid ID with you while fishing or transporting your catch.
Freshwater (Non-tidal sport fishing) licenses can be easily acquired on-line at https://www2.gov.bc.ca or can be purchased in person at our local outdoor shop, “Johnny’s Wild outdoors” right here in Revelstoke.
Saltwater (Tidal Waters Sport fishing) licenses are required for ALL ages. Children under 16 are free, however, they are still required to possess a valid licence.
When you purchase your Tidal Waters licence online, you must print it and carry it while fishing so that you can immediately record your chinook, ling cod or halibut catch on the licence in ink.
An additional purchase of a “Salmon stamp’ is required if you intend on retaining you Salmon catch.
Guests will be required to present their Tidal paper licence to their guide before their Ocean charter commences.
On Freshwater trips, the Black Pearl can comfortably accommodate 4 adults in addition to the captain. Pets are also welcome as we are a pet friendly operation.
